Course Type

Academic Enrichment Summer Courses

A different kind of summer course to our general English programmes: subject-based academic enrichment on a real university campus, aimed at students who already have a solid level of English and want a taste of university-style study before they apply.

How This Differs from General English

Our Oxford Royale programme isn't an English-language course, it's a subject course (Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business and more) taught in English, for students who want to explore a potential degree subject and experience student life at a leading university.

Who It Suits

Students aged 13-18 who already have strong English and are thinking about their next academic step, rather than students whose main goal is language improvement (for that, see our General English courses instead).

How a day is structured

Three classes a day: an introductory lecture, a deep-dive seminar with debate, and an afternoon session on real-world applications and case studies. Late afternoons are for sport, clubs or extra academic sessions, and evenings bring quiz nights, debating challenges and socials. Courses last 2, 4 or 6 weeks; a 2-week course includes about 40 hours of academic teaching.

Is it right for your child?

It suits students who already speak English confidently. If the main goal is to improve English, choose a General English summer school instead. Read more about studying in Oxford.
